Steel naval dirk. The grip and the scabbard are made of ivory, decorated with metal and painted in the style of ancient Chinese masters. The dirk is a fine example of the traditional Chinese applied art.

A gift from Choi Yong Gon, the Chairman of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, while staying in Stalingrad. The embroidered inscription reads [translation]: “Wishing best success to the Soviet people in their endeavor to build communism in the Soviet Union and a peaceful world. April 1959. Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea”
