A round medal with a Belgium Lion (a lion rampant with protracted claws and its tongue stuck out) on its obverse dated 1940-1945. The medal is decorated with laurel branches. The reverse side is marked by an expression written in French and Flemish, saying, “le Front de l'Indépendance à ses milices / het Onafhankelijkheidsfront aan zijn milities”. The medal is connected to a metal ring with a moiré ribbon with longitudinal green, white and Belgium flag coloured stripes on the sides.

Sculptural composition “Freedom”
1984 Peace Creator Award to the people of Volgograd, who knew the horrors of war, from the Sermig community (SERMIG - Youthful Missionary Service Brotherhood of Hope). The stylized figures of a man and a woman hold a crossbar above them, on which a quote from Paul Eluard is burned in Italian: "Freedom, I write your name on the crossbar of my door" (Libertà io scrivo il tuo nome sull' architrave della mia porta. P. Éluard). Ode "Freedom" was written by Éluard in 1942 during the German occupation of France. The base (stand) of the sculptural group has a metal plate attached with the text: “1984 Peace Creator Award / City of bulls to the city of Volgograd” (Premio artigiano per la Pace 1984 / La città di boves alla città di Volgograd).
